Stefan D. Holubar, MD, MS, FACS, FASCRS is a colorectal surgeon and Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, where he serves as Director of Research for the Department of Colon & Rectal Surgery. His clinical practice centers on surgery for inflammatory bowel disease, with particular depth in ileoanal pouch (IPAA) surgery, redo pouch procedures, and perianal Crohn's disease.

A University of Vermont MD and Mayo Clinic–trained colorectal surgeon, he previously led Colon and Rectal Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. His research program bridges surgical outcomes and artificial intelligence: he co-leads the ACS NSQIP IBD Collaborative, chaired the ASCRS IBD Committee, and is PI of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's IBD-SIRCQ cohort. He has described Twisted Pouch Syndrome and the Pouch Tortuosity Index, and built a family of clinical AI platforms including IBDology.org, Pouchology.org, and Pouchy.org.

With over 300 peer-reviewed publications, he is among the most prolific surgical IBD investigators in North America.
